Adapted from AFSP’s flagship suicide prevention education program Talk Saves Lives — recognized in 2025 by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center’s Best Practices Registry — Talk Saves Lives: Construction delivers critical, jobsite-relevant guidance on risk factors, warning signs, and how to take action.
Built by and for the construction industry, this flexible presentation can be tailored from 15 to 60 minutes, the shortest version of which can be presented without slides. The Hard Hat Courage team can deliver the program for you or train your team to lead it internally and sustain impact over time.

Listen. Engage. Act. Direct. (LEAD) — Skills for Suicide Prevention
The LEAD (Listen. Engage. Ask. Direct.) Training is a practical, action-oriented program designed to equip construction leaders and supervisors with the skills to prevent suicide and support mental health on the job. In this interactive, two-hour workshop, participants work through real-world scenarios and clear, step-by-step guidance to recognize warning signs and practice the skills needed to start meaningful conversations, respond in moments of crisis, and connect individuals to life-saving resources.
More than awareness, LEAD is designed to build confidence and self-efficacy to take action. It empowers organizations to create a culture where mental health is treated as a critical part of safety and where everyone looks out for one another. Promote 988 on the Jobsite
Mental health is an important part of jobsite safety. By sharing clear, visible messaging, you can help ensure workers know that support is available. These stickers can be printed by a vendor of your choice and distributed across jobsites to promote awareness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Posters are also available to print and display in high traffic areas to reinforce this message.

If You’ve Lost Someone to Suicide
Connect with a trained AFSP volunteer who has also lost a loved one to suicide, is further along on their healing journey, and who can point the way toward resources and understanding through AFSP’s Healing Conversations: Personal Support for Survivors of Suicide Loss program.
